Class Trailer Hitch

We offer Class 1 – 5 trailer hitches, Gooseneck Hitches and Weight Distributing Hitches. Determining the right trailer hitch class or type for you requires that we fully understand the specifics of what you intend to tow. The tongue weight (the weight the hitch has to carry) and the weight carrying capacity or draw weight (the weight the hitch has to pull) and the year, make and model of your vehicle.

Curt Class 3 HitchClass 1 through Class 3 hitches all look and operate pretty much the same. Some of these hitches are barely visible when the hitch tongue is removed. The industry generally refers to these as hidden or concealed hitches. Other trailer hitches stick out a bit further and are termed as exposed hitches. The trailer hitch class relates primarily to the thickness, or gauge of the steel used to manufacture the hitch. It also relates to the specific towing and tongue weight capacity the hitch can handle. As hitch class increases, so does the tensile strength of the steel used in the design and the overall weight of the actual hitch. Class 4 and above hitches are for heavy duty hauling jobs.
